Born 1926, in Detroit, MI; Education: Bob Jones University, B.A., 1950; Western Conservative Baptist Seminary, D.Min., 1977. Religion: Baptist. Hobbies and other interests: Flying his twin-engine plane, snow skiing, water skiing, football, motorcycling, golfing.

Pastor of Baptist churches in Pickens, SC, 1948-50, and in Minneapolis, MN, 1950-56; Scott Memorial Baptist Church, El Cajon, CA, senior pastor, 1956-81. Host, with wife, of television program "LaHayes on Family Life," and of Tim LaHaye's Capitol Report. President of Christian Heritage College, 1970-76; lecturer for Family Life Seminars, 1972—. Military service: U.S. Army Air Forces, 1944-46; became sergeant.
